Observed Presence LLC (“Observed Presence”, “we”) runs observedpresence.com, the website of photographer Stephen E. Rossi. This page explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with and the choices you have.

What we collect

• Information you send us. When you use a form on this site — contact, licensing or print inquiries, the collector list, or a classroom download — we collect what you enter, such as your name, email, organization or school, and your message.
• Purchases. When you buy a license, payment is handled by Stripe or, for invoices, by BILL. We receive your name, business name, email, the license purchased and any details you enter at checkout (such as your website). We never see or store your full card number.
• Usage information. We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used — pages viewed, images opened, approximate location (city or region), device and browser type, and how you arrived. Google Analytics uses cookies to do this.

How we use it

To answer your inquiries and quotes; to deliver files and licenses you buy and keep records of them; to send collector-list news if you asked for it; to understand which photographs and pages interest visitors and improve the site; and to meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.

Who we share it with

We don’t sell or rent your information. We share it only with the service providers that run this site and business, for the purposes above: Netlify (website hosting and form handling), Google (analytics and email), Stripe (online payments), and BILL (invoicing and payments). We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, such as in a dispute over unlicensed use of a photograph.

Cookies

The site itself doesn’t set advertising cookies. Google Analytics sets cookies to count visits; you can block them in your browser or with Google’s opt-out add-on, and the site will still work. Your browser may also store small preferences, such as a purchase in progress, so the thank-you page can show your download.

How long we keep it

Inquiries and form submissions are kept as long as they’re useful for the conversation or your license. Purchase and license records are kept for as long as the license and our tax and accounting obligations require. Collector-list addresses are kept until you unsubscribe.

Your choices

You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to be removed from the collector list, at any time through the contact page. California residents have these rights under state law, and we extend them to everyone. We’ll respond within 30 days.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Payments are processed by Stripe and BILL, which are PCI-compliant; card details never pass through our systems. Access to form submissions and records is limited to Observed Presence.

Children

This site isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. Classroom downloads are intended for teachers and students old enough to use them under their school’s supervision.
