The three Presence volumes document subjects defined by their own form, gaze, and weight — even when more than one animal is present, the eye is drawn to individual presence within the frame.
The Epilogue shifts that focus entirely. Here the relationship itself is the subject. Not who they are, but what exists between them.
These images were made at night and at the edge of day, in the warm light that the earlier volumes deliberately excluded. Color returns — not as decoration, but as temperature. The warmth of the Epilogue is earned.
This is the series letting its guard down. The formal restraint of three volumes gives way to something quieter and more fragile: belonging.
